The World Of Warcraft: Shadowlands Prepatch Is Officially Live On NA Servers!

It’s finally here! Today, the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands prepatch has officially launched!

We’ve had a few delays, without even needing to mention the main delay that pushed the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion as a whole back by a still-undetermined period of time. Originally set to release later this month, the expansion now is only expected to release sometime this year.

But at the same time as the delay, we had the announcement of the prepatch itself coming out, set for October 13th – today! While there were some delays, with the maintenance taking a bit longer than expected, patch 9.0 is here as promised.

The delay for the patch wasn’t too bad, though the fans that had been eagerly awaiting the release all day weren’t too happy. Originally set to be released at 3:00 PM (PDT), the developers at Blizzard were forced into a delay to extend the maintenance until 4:00 PM (PDT) instead.

So, with the prepatch now released, what is there to do? There’s a massive amount coming, and if you haven’t checked out Blizzard’s thorough Survival Guide they released earlier this week, there’s no time like the present.

Frankly, a good number of players are likely going to be spending the foreseeable future pouring over the new customization options. With so many new changes, there’s never been more options on the table.

Hunters may be chasing down some of the many new pets they’ve been offered, with entire new families of pets now being tameable. Undead pets are now tameable, as well as Pandaren Cloud Serpents. If neither of those are your style, you can track down alpacas, camels, and pigs!

Whether you’re a hunter or not, though, you’ll be spending some time familiarizing yourself with the new loadout. Every class’s spellbook got a bit thicker, with new abilities being added and talents being radically changed.

Of course, one of the main things on everyone’s mind right now is likely the new leveling system. With the level cap squished down to 60 down from 120, leveling has been completely overhauled, so it’s a wonderful time to hop onto a new toon.

Regardless of what you have first on your agenda, the new additions are bringing a massive wealth of new content to sink your teeth into. While the expansion itself still remains an unknown amount of time away, all of the new content being offered with today’s prepatch provides a solid way to tide players over.
