Little Mix have taken a savage swipe at music mogul Simon Cowell in their new album Confetti.
The girl band previously revealed he “f**ked us over” after they split from his record label Syco in 2018.
Not A Pop Song will feature on their new album, released on Friday, and suggests Simon and his team treated the incredible group like “puppets on a string”.
The girls were signed to the Syco record label for seven years after winning the X Factor – they are now signed with RCA.
But they didn’t hold back as they made a very obvious scathing dig at their former boss in new lyrics.
The lyrics read: “I don’t do what Simon says / Get the message cuz it’s read / That’s just life it never plays fair / Said to follow any dream, be a puppet on a string / Works for you but that isn’t me / This ain’t another pop song.”
However a source revealed the lyrics are not meant to be “bitchy” and it’s about the girls “growing up and becoming their own women”.
A source told Metro: “It’s not bitchy – and isn’t meant in a bitchy way at all.
“They think Simon will see the funny side of it – as they know he loves attention and will think it’s all playful.”
The girls are releasing their sixth studio album tomorrow.
Confetti is their first release with RCA following on from 2018’s LM5.
Jade Thirlwall previously said their breakup from Syco was a “troublesome” time in their career, but the girls are now “in a good place”.
She explained how the shock split came about, saying, “We’ve learnt to really stick to our guns and do what we believe in,” suggesting they were strung along by Simon.
Despite the label still being linked to Syco under Sony Music, Leigh-Anne previously said of the change: “It’s nice to have fresh people to work with and fresh ideas. Everyone needs change in their life I guess.”
She added: “I feel like we’ve had control from the start. We’ve always been the type of girls to walk in and be like, right, this is what we want.
“We were like that from The X Factor. We’ve always taken the lead but I think it’s gotten better now that we’ve got older.”
Mirror Online has contacted Simon’s representative for comment.
*Confetti is available to buy and stream on Friday.
