Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly recently underwent a Covid-19 test as they revealed to BGT fans how the process worked.
The Britain’s Got Talent hosts, who are currently presenting the finals of the talent show, were in high spirits as they filmed their experience.
Speaking to their fans, Ant revealed that the cast and crew have to be tested every four days in order to keep them safe from coronavirus.
The comedy duo then met with the resident medic and got their throat and nasal swabs, with hilarious results.
First up in the video was Ant, who appeared confident with the coronavirus test process.
“Every four days we have to get a Covid test, so we sit next to each other,” Ant began.
“So if you haven’t had one, throat first and then the same bit goes in your nostril – you dirty devil,” Ant added as he talked fans through the process.
Next up was Declan, who seemed a little more hesitant about getting the test while in the company of Ant.
Ant was plunged into hysterics as he watched his co-star squirm as the swab went up his nose.
That was the most uncomfortable test I’ve ever had. We shall do them individually from here on in,” Declan added, while Ant giggled in the background.
At the start of last month, Ant and Dec revealed that they had formed a ‘cohort’ and connected their households, meaning they didn’t have to distance from each other.
Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning, the duo said: “We are a cohort, we are working on Britain’s Got Talent at the moment, and other things, so we get tested every four days so our households are connected and we formed a cohort so we can sit next to each other.”
There have also been lots of extra safety precautions introduced to keep the cast and crew safe during filming for Britain’s Got Talent.
There is no longer a live audience and instead viewers appear via a video link.
Despite added safety measures, the show has been criticised by viewers as some accused the judges and competitors of flouting distancing rules.
BGT producers have since revealed to Metro that they: “operate to comprehensive Covid-19 policies and film in compliance with the law including ensuring personal contact on stage is for the shortest time; hands are sanitised; equipment is disinfected; participants are not face to face and the studio is well ventilated.”
