The popular party DJ, whose inner circle contains A-list celebs like Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham, bravely opened up about his transformation over a decade in recovery.
Sharing the candid post with his 154,000 Instagram followers, DJ Fat Tony – real name Tony Marnach – unveiled two pictures that were taken almost 14 years apart.
The first was taken in the midst of his addiction battle while the second showed a present day snap of the artist.
Alongside the photographs, he also penned an empowering message for his fans.
He wrote: “The picture on the left is me 14 years ago lost in addiction the picture on the right is 13 and a half years later in recovery proof that when you feel that things can’t get any worse they can only get better x.”
The musician has been praised for his brave post, and has even received supportive messages from celeb pals such as Elton John.
“An inspiration to us all,” penned the Rocket Man artist.
“Jesus Christ… this post just stopped me scrolling. Such an incredible transformation. Such an inspiration. X,” penned another.
Claire Sweeny added: “Omg looks like could be your dad. That’s amazing. Well done!!!”
Known for his party lifestyle, DJ Fat Tony revealed that he had used drugs for decades and at one point, his weight had slumped to just 7 stone.
“There wasn’t a day that went by in 28 years that I wasn’t on drugs – I’d lived many more years high than I had clean,” he recalled some years ago.
While Marnach estimated that he may have spent over £1million on drugs throughout the years, the DJ has since turned his life around and got sober.
He has since gone on to work with some incredible artists as well as become an advocate for several charities supporting people with addiction.
