Molly-Mae Hague‘s fans were left confused after their fake tan bottles appeared to have exploded before they were even opened.
The influencer, 21, launched her very own fake tan brand dubbed Filter by Molly-Mae in December last year, and although business has been booming for her, it seems as though some customers aren’t left satisfied.
One unhappy buyer took to TikTok to share her experience of the tan, revealing that her bottle appears to have “exploded” before she even had the chance to open it.
In a video posted on the social media app, the customer said: “I have a question for Molly-Mae.”
She went on: “I’ve just ordered your tan stuff, is it supposed to look like this? It’s like, it hasn’t exploded but because the cap’s like that, but is it supposed to look like that?”
And it seems as though she wasn’t the only one who experienced a similar issue, as another TikTok user filmed her own bottle.
“Literally same thing just happened to me,” another buyer wrote.
Molly-Mae’s rep declined to comment when approached by Mirror Online.
It comes as Molly recently resumed her fake tan business after being forced to close it amid the pandemic.
Back in March, she posted a message on the company website and another on its Instagram, explaining they were closed due to the covonavirus restrictions.
The message on the brand’s Instagram, which has 134,000 followers, read: “Due to the recent provisions outlined by the government relating to COVID-19, Filter by Molly-Mae has made the decision to close our online store and fulfilment centre with immediate effect.
“Our main priority is to protect the safety for both our team and our valued customers.
“This is a decision that has now been made lightly and we want to thank everybody for your support so far.
She insisted the shut down was not forever, and ended with a poignant request for her followers.
“This is not a goodbye this is just a see you soon. Stay safe and stay at home. Love Molly-Mae x”.
