Boban, Mavs Cruise Past LA Lakers, Phoenix Suns Easily Defeat Utah Jazz

The Dallas Mavericks posted a win over the LA Lakers in their scrimmage game, with the Phoenix Suns doing the same against the Utah Jazz.

Mavs took down Lakers, 108-104, with Boban Marjanovic and Seth Curry leading the way. Even though the purple and gold had a lead in the first half, the superb third quarter in which Dallas blew away the biggest candidates for winning the NBA title this year decided the game. That sequence ended 33-19 for the Mavs, who not only erased the deficit but also took over the momentum on its side.

Seth Curry was 6-for-6 from downtown, scoring 23 points in the end, not missing a single shot from the field. Boban was dominant in the paint, with 17 points, 13 boards, 6-for-9 from the floor, even drilling one three-pointer. Luka Doncic played 17 minutes, adding 14 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds.

Among the Lakers, as usual, LeBron and Anthony Davis were among the best players. Both of them had 12 points, with LBJ adding five dimes on top of it. They both spent 15 minutes each in the game. Quinn Cook and JaVale McGee were the top scorers with 13 points. Dwight Howard and Kyle Kuzma had the same statistics, 9 points, and 7 rebounds.

In the second game of the night, the Suns were better than the Jazz, 101-88. It was obvious right from the start that the Jazz is not looking good. Phoenix created 28-19 lead following the first 10 minutes, and later on, just kept the distance between them and the rivals.

The talks about the bad chemistry inside Utah’s locker room became intensified following this loss, as many believe that there is a big rift between the two best players, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.

Mitchell scored 17 points with four assists, shooting 5-for-8. On the other hand, Gobert had just 5 points and 6 rebounds, without some particular impact on the game during his 22 minutes on the floor.

Jordan Clarkson had 14 points, but with a low shooting percentage, 5-for-14, hitting three downtown shots in seven attempts. Mike Conley added 12 points.

Mikal Bridges scored 14 for the Suns, Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton 13 each, and Darios Saric 12.

We have three games scheduled for this Friday, Memphis Grizzlies vs. Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City vs. Boston Celtics, and the Houston Rockets vs. Toronto Raptors.

Saturday and Sunday will see 11 matches combined.
