Lisa Marie Presley has decided to move to a new property than return to the house where her son took his own life.
The 52-year-old daughter of Elvis Presley is said to be ‘too distressed and distraught’ to live in the home where Benjamin tragically brought his life to an end.
Lisa Marie has reportedly found herself a new home and has left the $1.8 million property in Calabasas behind.
Benjamin, 27, reportedly shot himself in the bathroom on July 12, with his body being discovered by his girlfriend Diana Pinto the next day.
The family were already living in a Beverly Hills hotel after a mould problem was discovered in the house, so was empty when Benjamin returned alone after celebrating his girlfriend’s birthday.
A heartbroken Lisa Marie has only gone back to the house to meet police who were at the scene.
A source told The Sun : “They were already dealing with the mold problem and now Lisa doesn’t want to return, she is too distressed and doesn’t ever want to relive that morning.
“She had been looking for a rental while staying at the hotel, going back and forth to the house only to sort things out, and she’s now found somewhere.
“It’s the right place for the family to hole up for a while and grieve privately as they navigate this awful time in their lives.”
It has been reported that Lisa Marie sold the house last year but had been renting the property back from the new owner, after originally moving there in 2017.
Benjamin, who is Lisa Marie’s son from her first marriage to Danny Keough, was always likened to his grandfather Elvis for his striking comparison.
The source continued to say that the death has hit Lisa Marie hard but she has plenty of people around her as she tries to make sense of what happened.
They said: “Lisa has had a lot of guests coming and going at the new house, and there are more than a dozen people staying with her at the moment, including family, friends, assistants and nannies.
“She’s definitely not alone dealing with this tragedy and has a lot of help and support as they plan Ben’s funeral and celebrate his short life.”
