‘Broken’ Dawn O’Porter says she’s still haunted by suicide of pal Caroline Glack

EXCLUSIVE: TV presenter said she is still grieving “in a pretty terrible way” for the Love Island star who committed suicide at her London home in February

Telly presenter Dawn O’Porter has been left haunted by the suicide of her pal Caroline Flack.

Dawn, 41, said the Love Island star’s death “broke” her and admitted she is still grieving “in a pretty terrible way”.

The broadcaster and writer believes she has been sent spiritual signs from Caroline, such as crows flocking to her US home for a “funeral” and her baby boy saying “Carrie” unprompted.

She also said she saw a ‘Be Kind’ message with a heart in the sky after her pal passed away.

And she still reads back old messages from Caroline and scrolls through pictures on her Instagram page.

Caroline, 40, was found dead at her East London home in February.

The star, who had mental health problems, committed suicide after learning she would be prosecuted for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend, Lewis Burton.

Dawn opened up about the terrible toll her friend’s death has had on her in her new book, Life in Pieces.

She said that after she heard the news, she couldn’t get through an hour without sobbing and said: “Grief tore me in half. Since that morning, I’ve been scared to look at my phone when I wake up in case more bad news comes. When it happened, I was scared to be outside because I did crazy things like walk across roads without looking both ways.

“I should never have driven with my kids in the car, I wasn’t safe.”

The mum-of-two, who is married to IT Crowd actor Chris O’Dowd, revealed she bought crystals to help with her grief at Caroline’s funeral – and still sleeps with them under her pillow.

She also said she believes that a tree in her garden contains the spirit of her late mother – and is convinced that a new tree growing beside it is Caroline.

She said: “I feel her in everything, more than I have any other person I have lost. I feel she is watching out for me in so many ways, and also just watching me.”
