Coleen Rooney was ‘distressed’ and ‘didn’t know who to trust’ after Instagram leak
Court documents filed as part of Coleen Rooney’s libel battle with Rebekah Vardy reveal Wayne’s wife was left feeling ‘distressed’ and ‘didn’t know who to trust’ after stories were leaked from her Instagram page
Coleen Rooney was left feeling “distressed” and “didn’t know who to trust” after private stories were leaked from her Instagram page.
Wayne Rooney’s wife is preparing to head to the High Court to take on fellow Wag Rebekah, who has sued her for libel.
Rebekah – who denied any involvement in the leak – has taken legal action against her nemesis in a bid to clear her name.
Now in new documents filed as part of the suit, Coleen’s team claim the WAG was left distraught by the thought that someone had been sharing details from her private account with the press.
They state: “The unauthorised disclosure of private material from the Defendant’s Private Instagram Account was deeply distressing to the Defendant [Coleen].
“The Defendant was left not knowing who to trust.”
Coleen has supplied three pictures in the cache of legal papers to back up her claim.
In one, a picture of an airline seat can be seen as Coleen considers finding out about ‘gender selection’, while in another she can be seen in a selfie, considering her future TV career.
A third shows a bottle of Cloudy Bay white wine and a scrunched face emoji after Coleen told how her basement was flooded.
All three stories were fake and led to Coleen alleging on social media that the source of them appearing in the media was Rebekah Vardy’s account.
Coleen sensationally accused Rebekah of being behind stories that were leaked from her private account – earning her the nickname Wagatha Christie for her online sleuthing.
She set up her own sting operation to catch whoever had been passing on information from her private Instagram page to the press last year.
She posted a series of fake stories, blocked all her followers apart from Rebekah’s account and then sprung a gotcha post online when the hoax posts made their way into the papers.
Rebekah vehemently denied she was behind the leaks, insisting a number of people had access to her Instagram page.
After Coleen’s post last October, Rebekah released a statement to strenuously deny she was behind the leak.
Rebekah wrote: “I wish you had called me if you thought this.
