The new James Bond film No Time To Die has been delayed again until April, it’s been confirmed.

The film, which is the 25th in the series, was meant to come out earlier this year, but was then moved to November 12 because the coronavirus pandemic closed down cinemas worldwide.

And the release date has now been delayed for a second time “in order to be seen by a worldwide theatrical audience” as lockdown restrictions are still in place across the globe.

The news was confirmed on the film franchise’s official Twitter account on Friday night alongside a picture of the film’s logo.

It posted: “MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, today announced the release of NO TIME TO DIE, the 25th film in the James Bond series, will be delayed until 2 April 2021 in order to be seen by a worldwide theatrical audience.”

A poster released just weeks ago still had November 12 as the release date.

No Time To Die will be Daniel Craig’s final Bond film.

A trailer released last month sees James back out of retirement to face off with the evil new threat of Safin (Rami Malek) who has acquired some dangerous new technology and threatens the balance of the globe.

We also get to see Bond unite with beautiful Cuban CIA agent Paloma, played by Craig’s Knives Out co-star Ana de Armas, who displays her own combat skills in the clip.

Elsewhere, Bond finds a prickly ally in new 00-operative Nomi (Lashana Lynch), while old favourite Q (Ben Whishaw) seems to be out in the field to help Bond.

The trailer also teases Bond’s tense relationship with former flame Dr. Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) whose dark past and links to Safin come back to help her.

The film is directed by Kiwi talent Cary Joji Fukunaga and has a script co-written by Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

It also stars Jeffrey Wright as Bond’s CIA pal Felix Leiter, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, and Ralph Fiennes as M.

Earlier this week Bond boss Barbara Broccoli, 60, confirmed Daniel Craig really won’t be back for another film.

Speaking about the English actor’s time in the MI6 spy’s shoes on the No Time To Die podcast, Babs made it sound like his series of films – Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre and No Time To Die – would have an enclosed feel for the franchise.

She said: “There’s a few lines that are in the script that Bond fans will love from the books and some wonderful locations that are described in the books.

“We consider this film to be a classic Bond film but with a modern twist.

“It’s also vitally important because it is the fifth and final one that Daniel Craig is going to be doing, so it’s a culmination of everything his portrayal of the character has been through and it ties up all the storylines.
