Archie Lyndhurt’s parents ‘could not have been more proud of him’ says Tamzin Outhwaite
EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite has paid tribute to ‘beautiful’ Archie Lyndhurst who has died at the age of 19
EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite has paid tribute to Archie Lyndhurst and the special bond he shared with his parents Lucy and Nicholas, after the budding actor died at the age of 19-years-old.
Archie was the beloved son of Only Fools and Horses star Nicholas, who worked alongside Tamzin on BBC drama New Tricks.
As messages of condolences for Archie poured in across social media following Thursday’s announcement, Tamzin said she was ‘utterly devastated’ by the news as she remembered her co-star’s ‘beautiful teen’.
She told her followers: “Lucy and Nic could not have been more proud of him . Such a talent. Knowing them, they would want their privacy protected right now, so they may grieve in peace. R.I.P beautiful Archie.”
The Mel Owens actress’ post sparked a huge response, with fellow EastEnders star Lucy Benjamin sharing her support by replying: “So so sad” followed by two prayer emojis.
“Can this year get any worse?” Tamzin then responded.
Yesterday it was reported that CBBC star Archie had been discovered at his family home in Fulham on September 22 following a ‘brief illness.’
His devastated parents icholas and Lucy spoke out about the tragedy in a brief statement yesterday, saying they were ‘utterly grief stricken’.
Mum Lucy spoke out again today as she commented on post by comedian Jack Whitehall, who had worked with Archie on numerous projects.
“We shall love him forever and a day and are the luckiest parents to have had the most wonderful unique son,” Lucy wrote, adding that her only boy had brought “nothing but joy in our lives”.
In his tribute, Jack described Archie – who played a younger version of him on TV and on stage – as ‘enthusiastic, talented and loved by everyone on set.’
Lucy then thanked Jack for giving her son some ‘amazing opportunities’.
“He loved every moment of every job and relished in the fantastic scripts you wrote,” she told him.
As well as his work with Jack, Archie also found fame playing Ollie Coultin in the CBBC show So Awkward.
CBBC confirmed news of his death in a statement on Thursday.
