After appearing on Dancing with the Stars when she was only 17 years old, Sadie Robinson was apparently, body-shamed a lot and that really affected her to the point that she developed an eating disorder! The Duck Dynasty star, who is now 23, opened up about that experience, getting candid about how she fell victim to all of those ‘negative influences’ and more!
Sadie Robertson’s appearance on the dancing competition’s season 19 was a memorable and successful one, the girl wowing everyone with her dancing to the point that she finished in second place!
But once her time on stage ended, the body-shaming started.
During a new interview for Entertainment Tonight, Sadie explained that ‘During Dancing With the Stars, you work out so much and you’re dancing 24/7, so no wonder you have the body of your lifetime! I had this body that I never thought I’d have. I had a six-pack for two weeks, but then Thanksgiving hit and it went away. People started to comment.’
She went on to recall that ‘They were such innocent comments at first, like, everything was great. But whenever my body started looking a little different, that’s when the struggle came in. There were people in my life, who were just really negative influences, that would say things that were not uplifting about the way that I looked and how I needed to maintain the body that I had.’

While Sadie acknowledges now that it was a wrong thing for them to do, at the time, she was just an insecure teenager and believed them, making sure to push her limits.
Things just continued getting worse, people commenting on her career, saying that she could look just like a ‘real model’ if she lost 10 pounds even though she was already at an unhealthy weight at that point.
