Shia LaBeouf been charged with battery and theft following an altercation with a man in June, reports claim.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the 34-year-old actor got involved in a verbal argument with a man – which then became physical- in Los Angeles over the summer.

The outlet adds that it was not clear who started the heated exchange and after the altercation was over Shia took off the man’s cap and left the scene with it.

The website added that they were told that the man filed a police report and cops investigated which led police determining Shia was the aggressor.

Transformers star Shia nor the other man are said to have sustained any major injuries from the incident.

Shia was reportedly charged with battery and petty theft by L.A. City Attorney earlier this month, which are both misdemeanors.

Mirror Online have contacted a representative for Shia for comment.

In 2017 the star was arrested by police in New York while taking part in a protest against President Donald Trump.

The actor was taken into custody by police following a row at his He Will Not Divide Us art installation.

Following his arrest for ‘public drunkenness’ he went on an epic rant – which was captured on video by a police officer’s body cam after he was arrested in Savannah.

Shia was taken into custody by Savannah-Chatham Metro Police at around 4am on July 8 2017 after police say he failed to comply with their request to leave the area.

In a video, obtained by Mirror Online, the former child star can be seen and heard repeatedly asking officers to tell him why he’s being arrested.

He says in the footage: “I have rights, I’m an America, you’ve got me in my hotel, arresting me for doing what, Sir?”

Shia is then led from the hotel in handcuffs and taken to the car as he continues to ask officers what he did to them.

He is then sat in the back of the car and asks again why he’s being an arrested.

An officer tells him it’s for “disorderly conduct, obstruction and public drunkenness”.

He then goes an an epic rant while sat in the back of the car.

He says: “Who you fighting for? You’ve got a president who don’t give a s**t about you and you’re stuck in a police force that don’t give a f**k about you so you want to arrest white people who give a f**k? Who ask for cigarettes?

“I came up to you trying to be nice, you stupid b***h. I came up to you asking for a cigarette, you dumb f**k, why would I ask for a cigarette if I was racist, you stupid b***h.

“I was asking for a cigarette, you said “no”, I said “word”, and then you arrested me you dumb f**k. They got cameras everywhere you dummy, I got more millionaire lawyers than you know what to do with, you stupid b***h.

“White man in America getting arrested for asking for a cigarette, wake the f**k up, what you fighting for?”
