Ranvir Singh has taken one last opportunity to declare Giovanni Pernice as “incredible” after she exited Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend.
The 43-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter also showed the sacrifice her body had to make to ensure she could dance her way to the semi-final of the BBC show.
She was denied a place in the final after the judges chose Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing over her in the dance-off, and Ranvir has taken to Instagram to say her goodbyes to the competition.
There have been rumours that her relationship with dance partner Giovanni has been more than ‘strictly professional’ and she once again said “I adore you” as she shared her upset at missing out on the final.
Writing on Instagram, Ranvir said: “Sadly it was not to be – but what a way to go.. on a beautiful Waltz that got a score of 8,9,9 on the semi-final of @bbcstrictly I couldn’t have done anymore!
“My incredible partner – you @pernicegiovann1 tried your best to get me to the final and I’m just disappointed for you.
“I adore you ❤️ My feet are relieved to not be punished anymore and although my heart is a little sad for tonight – I am genuinely proud of what we achieved from below zero ability and confidence to start with to feeling magical in the Paso, Foxtrot, the American Smooth, Argentine Tango, Viennese Waltz, and a classic Waltz ! With a Cha cha and Jive squeezed in for good measure.”
Ranvir added: “Thank you to everyone @bbcstrictly for allowing me to be part of the show and thank you to everyone who voted and supported us for the last two months. ❤️
“What a privilege to be part of a show that gives so much joy to the country in this year of 2020 xxx”
Ranvir was soon receiving praise from celebs who have taken on the Strictly challenge, from this series and past times.
Her GMB colleague, Charlotte Hawkins, who has also graced the hallowed dance floor, wrote: “Oh Ranvir so sad to see you go, you were amazing! Huge well done! Sending love xxx”
Strictly finalist Maisie Smith added: “I feel honoured to have danced on the same stage as such a wonderful person well done beautiful xxx”
While Clara Amfo, who was knocked out earlier in the series, wrote: “You mate…gorgeous inside and out, a woman’s woman, a real life superhero and a beautiful dancer, be SO SO SO proud of yourself.”
This came a day after Ranvir showed the painful sacrifice she made each week when dancing on the show.
Sharing a pic of her toes, each one wrapped in plasters, the GMB presenter paid tribute to the Strictly physio for keeping her in a position to perform each week.
She captioned the photo: “The magic of the @bbcstrictly physio cannot be underestimated! Thanks @jen_nash_ Don’t forget to get your pigs in blankets for Christmas dinner by the way…”
Ranvir can now put her feet up without needing to put on her dancing shoes for a few weeks, at least.
