Peter Andre fears he won’t be able to see his beloved parents until 2022 amid strict Covid travel rules.

The Mysterious Girl hitmaker, who originally hails from Australia, is desperate to hug his dear mum and dad Savvas and Thea who are both in their mid-eighties.

The pop star’s parents have been unable to travel from Australia due to the fact the government has enforced a strict ban on most international travel.

And now, Pete is riddled with worry that he won’t have the opportunity to be with his parents again.

The proud dad-of-four said his only Christmas wish this year is to see his mum and dad again.

Opening up on the heart-wrenching situation, the singer told The Sun : “The greatest Christmas present would be to see mum and dad, but that’s not allowed.

“Dad was telling me that they said on the news that it might even be the end of next year they allow international travel.”

The former I’m A Celebrity star is worried that he may not see his parents ever again due to their age.

An emotional Pete said: “It really worries me because mum and dad are in their late 80s. When they were in their 40s and I was a teenager, not seeing them for a year, you just knew you’d see them a year later and they’d be fine.

He continued: “Now every year is very crucial. It’s incredibly scary. Dad and I had the chat. I said: ‘Dad, there are people here who’ve got their mum two miles up the road and they’re not allowed to see them. Imagine how they feel.”

The people of Australia are only permitted to leave the country with specific exemptions.

Elsewhere, there are incredibly strict rules put in place to stop travelers from arriving into the nation.

Australian Health Minister Greg Hunt has come under fire in recent months due to the seemingly harsh restrictions.

Despite this, he’s consistently defended the measures.

Earlier this week, the minister insisted: “Australia won’t be fully safe until the international community is safe. The risks abroad are enormous.”
