Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall appear at Golden Globes in 2016
Back in June, it was reported media giant Murdoch, 91, and Jerry, 65, were going their separate ways and were heading for a divorce.
The Australian-born billionaire and the former model-actress tied the knot March 2016 in central London, after courting for five months.
Following their recent split, Mail Plus have reported that Murdoch was handed the legal documents in the car park of RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire just before he boarded the plane following his granddaughter Charlotte’s wedding.
Murdoch was allegedly left ‘shocked’ when he was handed the papers by former Met Police anti-terror officer – Michael Colacicco, US court documents have shown.

Reports have claimed that billionaire Murdoch, who is worth an estimated $17.7 billion (£14.7billion), ended his six-year marriage to Jerry in an email.
Former model Jerry reportedly filed for divorce in Los Angeles on July 1, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
It comes after the New York Times claimed that those close to Murdoch were ‘surprised’ to learn of the end of the six-year marriage.
Prior to tying the knot in 2016, both Murdoch and Ms Hall had both walked down the aisle before and welcomed children into the world with other partners.

Murdoch had been married three times previously, while Ms Hall wed Mick Jagger – the father of her four children – in 1990 but their marriage was annulled in 1999.
Media tycoon Murdoch, who is worth £14.5 billion, has six children – including two daughters with his third wife Wendi Deng, whom he divorced in 2013.
In January 2016, Murdoch announced his engagement to Ms Hall via a notice in The Times newspaper before going on to becoming a married man for the fourth time a week before his 85th birthday in March of the same year.
It’s not known for certain whether the two stars signed a prenuptial agreement prior to marrying at St Bride’s, Fleet Street, but it is speculated that the billionaire is likely to have taken steps to protect his huge fortune.

Speaking to the MailOnline, lawyer Mark Stephens, of the Howard Kennedy firm, claims Murdoch could have possibly signed a ‘fairly generous’ pre-nuptial agreement.
The publication reports how the legal professional has explained how this would have been drafted with the ‘anticipation of not interfering with the line of succession’, for the Murdoch’s multi-billion pound business empire.
The Mirror has reached out to representatives of both Murdoch and Ms Hall for further comment on this story.
