Zayn Malik's sister's wedding was broken up by police, it's alleged.

His younger sister Waliyha, 22 married Junaid Khan, 24, on Saturday.

Around 40 guests allegedly attended the wedding last weekend, which took place at the home of another of Zayn’s sisters, Saffa, in Bradford, according to the MailOnline.

Bradford is currently in Tier 3, which means wedding ceremonies can still take place with up to 15 people, but wedding receptions are banned.

Zayn was not at the wedding and is currently in the US.

The couple got married in a traditional Islamic ceremony in a marquee put up in Saffa’s garden and a reception followed in the same location, it's reported.

Police officers arrived at the house at around 6pm after being called by neighbours, the report claims.

West Yorkshire police confirmed that a number of people were issued with fixed penalty notices.

A spokesman told MailOnline: "Police attended an address just after 6pm on Saturday evening following a report of a large party.

"A group of people were fined inside the address and fixed penalty notices were issued as a breach of coronavirus restrictions had been committed."

Mirror Online has contacted reps for Zayn Malik for comment.

Zayn did not attend the wedding.

Throughout lockdown, the singer has been staying at his girlfriend Gigi Hadid's family farm in Pennsylvania.

If Zayn had been able to make the trip across the pond, he would have had to self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival in the UK.
