For a while now, World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth players have been wondering whether the Brawler’s Guild feature would be returning in the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion. Recently, Blizzard confirmed that it would be closing down for the prepatch.
The main reason players were wondering if it would close is that it hadn’t been seen on the Beta yet, remaining unavailable. Additionally, it’s common for the developers to shut it down and improve it during prepatches to help make it a feature worth bothering with.
“The Brawler’s Guild is now temporarily closed,” Blizzard confirmed on the World of Warcraft forums. “This forum for fisticuffs and furious fighting will return in the future.”
Alliteration aside, the developers haven’t said anything about what sort of features will be brought in – or, more importantly, which will be removed. Still, their insistence that it will return brings some soothing to the player base that enjoys the feature.
But without notice on what will be removed, it’s best if players go ahead and farm up whatever they want from the mechanic. It doesn’t take long, and is almost completely a PvE mechanic, so players that haven’t grabbed what they want shouldn’t have much difficulty grabbing their items and tokens.

That’s plenty of time for most rewards if you have the ability to grind into it.
Brawler’s Guild rewards include quite a few things, with the most coveted being the Bruce mount, a giant crocolisk ground mount that can only be acquired through the Guild. There are also a few transmogrification ensembles and shirts, as well as exclusive titles and achievements.
To acquire Bruce, players will need to complete the Murder Mystery questline, which sends them around Azeroth and the Guild itself to discover the nefarious plot behind a few murders. This also serves as a way to push you through the Guild’s ranks itself, with several milestones in the quest needing you to reach a certain rank.
While we can’t say when the Guild will be returning, Blizzard has confirmed that it undoubtedly will, so don’t worry if you enjoy the mechanic itself and are fearing it leaving. Still, with no confirmed return date, it could be quite some time before you’re able to jump back in.
If you haven’t yet managed to get the rewards you want, there’s no time like the present – quite literally. It’s a get-it-or-lose-it situation since there’s no telling what will and won’t return, so make sure you grab the rewards and achievements you’ve been putting off before Tuesday comes and you potentially lose out forever!
