Conchata Ferrell 'dead': Two and a Half Men star 'dies six months after heart attack'

Two and a Half Men star Conchata Ferrell has reportedly died six months after she suffered a heart attack and a kidney infection

Conchata Ferrell has reportedly died six months after she suffered a heart attack.

The Two and a Half Men star, 77, passed away on October 12 as a result of complications following a cardiac arrest, it's claimed.

She died peacefully surrounded by family at Sherman Oaks Hospital in Sherman Oaks, California, Deadline reports.

Mirror Online has contacted Conchata's reps for comment.

Conchata is best known for playing the role of housekeeper Berta on the hit CBS comedy series Two and a Half Men.

In July it was reported that Conchata was fighting for her life after suffering a heart attack.

She had been battling health issues since last year after suffering a life-threatening kidney and blood infection.

According to TMZ Conchata suffered a cardiac arrested during a four week stay at a hospital intensive care unit.

She was hospitalised back in December and was moved into a long-term care facility in the summer.

Her husband Arnie Anderson said at the time: "It's going to be a while before there's any recovery. It's all neurological.

"There's nothing we can do to speed it up the process. We are hoping for the best."

Conchata had been at her holiday home in Charleston, West Virginia, in December when she began to feel "weak and frail."

She was then diagnosed with a kidney infection that had spread and begun to contaminate her blood.

The actress was kept in the ICU for several weeks before she was released into transitional care in January.

Conchata Galen Ferrell was born on March 28, 1943 in Charleston.

She married her husband Arnie in 1986 and the pair share a daughter named Samantha, 38.

Conchata's role in Two and a Half Men earned her two Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy nominations in 2005 and 2007.

She also received an Emmy nomination in 1992 for her role as Susan Bloom on L.A. Law.

Her more recent credits include Netflix's The Ranch, TV movie A Very Nutty Christmas and the upcoming film Deported.

Conchata also enjoyed a career in theatre.

Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer posted about the sad news, tweeting about his beloved 'Chatty': "She was a beautiful human.

"Berta's gruff exterior was an invention of the writers.

"Chatty's warmth and vulnerability were her real strengths.
