Tommy Fury says he has ‘no regrets’ after tragic death of his imported puppy

Tommy Fury has claimed he has 'no regrets' about buying an imported puppy which died just days after it arrived home.

Tommy and his Love Island girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague were left reeling when their Pomeranian puppy Mr Chai died - and his autopsy revealed the tiny pup had significant birth deformities that weren't picked up on when he was sold and shipped over from Russia.

A Mirror investigation found celebrities and influencers are being offered puppies "like shoes" by unscrupulous breeders to help plug their business in return for free or discounted dogs.

But boxer Tommy says he doesn't regret what happened because he has always done things with "good intentions".

"I don’t regret a single thing. What’s meant to be is meant to be," he told the Sun's Fabulous magazine.

"No matter what you do in life, people are always going to have an opinion. You could be a martyr and someone will still have a bad opinion of you and that’s just the way the world is."

Asked about the criticism he and Molly-Mae faced - they were both branded 'animal-killers' in the wake of Mr Chai's death - Tommy said he doesn't let trolling faze him.

"Dealing with people's opinions and being discriminated against in public is part and parcel of being in the limelight. As far as I'm concerned, if you like me, you like me. If you don't, then don't. You can easily unfollow," he pointed out.

He added that Molly-Mae does take more of the criticism to heart, but he's determined to protect her.

And speaking of their 16-month relationship, which has passed the test of time, Tommy said while they "definitely" want to get married and have children, at 21 they both want to travel and work on their careers before taking the next step.

"Everybody doubted us and said we were fake. The whole time we laughed and said: 'We’ll show them,' and we did because we're still together and getting stronger," he added.

"We don't need an announcement saying that we are the winners. We found love."

It comes after Molly-Mae praised their fellow Islanders Maura Higgins and Chris Taylor for finally going public with their romance, after weeks of speculation.

When the lovebirds confirmed their relationship with a smoochy Instagram snap, Molly told her fans she was "absolutely over the moon", adding: "My heart wasn't ready!"

"Shed a little tear when I saw the post go out. She's my girl and she deserves every bit of happinessm" she added on her Story.
