The Outer Worlds: Peril On Gorgon DLC Is Out Today, The First DLC For Obsidian’s Action RPG

The Outer Worlds was released almost a year ago, back in October 2019, to critical acclaim. Its brand new DLC, Peril on Gorgon, is out today. It has been a long wait, but if the pre-release gameplay is anything to go by, it’ll be worth it.

Announced at the Xbox Games Showcase earlier this year, the Peril on Gorgon DLC adds to the base narrative of The Outer Worlds. There is a new region to explore, new characters, new gear, and a brand new storyline quest.

The player, alongside the crew of the Unreliable, comes across a mystery that revolves around the Gorgon Asteroid. Make your way to the asteroid and uncover more secrets on a quest given by a character called Minnie Ambrose.

Once a renowned scientific outpost, the asteroid now mainly lays in ruin. It has been overrun by a horde of marauders and alien monsters – many of which will be brand new to the player.

The outpost is also where in the in-game consumable “Adrena-time” was invented, a drug that slows down time in the middle of a fight. Maybe there’ll be some sort of super-version of the drug?

This DLC will offer up an area as large as Monarch for the player to explore. The Monarch is the largest explorable area in the base game, so for those looking for more Outer Worlds, this DLC is the right fit.

You’ll need to complete the base game to be able to explore Gorgon and the narrative does follow on from the story of the Hero and their quest to save Halycon.

The gameplay gives a glimpse of a new sidequest and within the first few minutes, there are more examples of great Outer Worlds dialogue as you compliment a guard on their pretty eyes.

In typical Outer Worlds fashion, the player can handle this new storyline anyway they like. Either blast your way through or use stealth and cunning to solve the brand new series of quests.

Peril on Gorgon is the first of the two planned DLCs for The Outer Worlds available through the expansion pass. It releases today, September 9th, on PS4, Xbox One, and on PC.
