The Bachelor star Ali Fedotowsky has shared her pain and sadness after suffering a devastating miscarriage.
The US reality TV star, 35, opened up about losing her baby in a candid post on Instagram, admitting it happened "recently" and she's still dealing with his.
Fedotowsky is mum to two kids, Molly, four, and Riley, two, with her husband Kevin Manno and said she doesn't want others to "feel sorry" but insisted she felt it was "important" to share her experience.
In a post on the social media site, she wrote: "I had a miscarriage recently (I’m at the OBGYN right now for a follow up).
"I’m not sharing this bc I feel sorry for myself or I want others to tell me they feel sorry for me.
"I don’t feel sorry for myself. I feel sad for what could’ve been. Sad for the baby that was growing inside me
"Sad because it’s sad. I want to share this because I think it’s important.."
She went on to describe the miscarriage and how it left her feeling totally exhausted but admitted she's "not ready to fully talk about it" just yet.
Fedotowsky added: "It happened early one morning when I had intense cramping. I passed the gestational sac - which was the size of a plum - in my bedroom.
"I was in complete shock when it happened. I sat and stared at it for hours - not able to fully comprehend what happened.
"And the utter exhaustion that took over my body in the few days after that was almost debilitating."
She concluded with a message to others who have suffered similar losses, writing: "I’m writing this post to let others know who have experienced pregnancy loss know that I see you & feel you.
"We all go through different emotions & process the loss differently. I know that my loss is not the same as someone who’s had a stillbirth or lost a baby at 20 weeks.
"Or someone who has been trying to conceive for years. But what I found so shocking about my experience is that it affected me so much harder than I could have imagined. So know that if you’re going or have gone through this, your feelings are valid - whatever they may be."
She was inundated with messages of support from her famous friends, including fellow The Bachrlor star Vanessa Grimaldi, who wrote: "Sending you so much love Ali."
Fedotowsky later thanked her fans for showing her so much love after she shared her tragic news.
She added: "Grief and shame tied to miscarriage goes beyond what I originally thought people felt shame about when discussing miscarriage - at least for me.
"I never quite realised part of that shame was feeling like you didn’t deserve support afterwards. So thank you for reminding me and helping me see that it’s OK to feel supported in this moment."
Fedotowsky shot to fame in 2010 looking for love on dating show The Bachelor and returned for an appearance on spin-off The Bachelorette.
She got engaged to co-star Roberto Martinez in the final, but they split in 2011.
