According to new reports, there is an upcoming Disney+ series in which none other than Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany is set to portray She-Hulk! As fans of the comics know, the female version of Bruce Banner is actually his cousin and it is safe to say the character has been rather underused in film and TV adaptations so this could be really exciting!
Not to mention that it’s Tatiana Maslany, who has received a lot of praise for her multiple roles in Orphan Black, who is portraying She-Hulk so that makes the character and the project even more worth checking out!
At this point in time, however, the actress is yet to address the multiple reports that she’s joining the Marvel Universe.
As mentioned before, in the comic books, She-Hulk is Bruce Banner’s cousin, real name Jennifer Walters, and she gets the same powers as him via blood transfusion.
For now, there aren’t many details publicly known about the series and its plot but Deadline says that it has already opened a writers room.
The series will be joining others like it on Disney+ Marvel and based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe such as Loki, and Falcon, WandaVision and Winter Soldier!
Tatiana Maslany was still unknown when she was cast in Orphan Black back in 2013.
However, her incredible performance as multiple clones of the character named Sarah Manning brought her a lot of attention and praise and she even won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2016.
The show ran for five seasons and has a pretty big and passionate fandom known as the CloneClub.
Furthermore, in May, the cast reunited for a virtual table read in order to benefit several LGBTQ+ organizations.
About having to portray those characters again after such a long time, Maslany shared via SyFy Wire that ‘The muscle memory’s softened, but it is fun to go, ‘Oh, right’ with the voices, or with the accents. It is all slippery but it’ll be fun for people to see where it falls off the rails here and there.’
