Sweet meaning behind Rochelle and Marvin Humes' baby name as they welcome son
Former The Saturdays' singer Rochelle and JLS star Marvin Humes took to twitter to share the exciting news that their third child is happy and healthy, while revealing what they decided to call him
Rochelle and Marvin Humes have welcomed their first son together.
The proud parents confirmed the exciting news on Instagram with a series of sweet snaps of their baby boy, whom they've named Blake Hampton Humes.
They wrote: "Blake Hampton Humes. On Friday morning at 8.44am our boy arrived to flip the switch on 2020."
Rochelle, 31, then added: "I didn’t think I’d ever fall in love with another man but this guy has stolen my whole heart and we’ve been in a love bubble ever since..."
Meanwhile Marvin, 35, wrote: "My son! My son!!! Feels so weird but amazing saying that.
"Blake Hampton Humes was born on Friday weighing 8 pounds 2 ounces. Rochelle is a superwoman... family complete."
Although the couple haven't revealed why they chose Blake, OK! magazine says that the unisex name, which was first originated in old English as a surname before it was adopted as a first name, has a multitude of meanings.
Blake can mean dark-complexioned as much as it could mean pale or fair-haired.
OK! also say that this could perhaps be derived from the idea of fire which "burns bright".
The couple picked out Hampton for their son's middle name, which is also of Old English origin, and literally translates to "home settlement".
The pair, who married in 2012, also have two daughters Alaia, seven, and Valentina, three, whose names are equally as unique as their new brother's.
Valentina Raine, simply means "love" and her middle name is originally a French word meaning 'Queen.'
Alaia-Mai on the other hand could either mean "sublime" or "joyful and happy".
