Susanna and Piers’ true feelings towards each other ‘uncovered’ by expert

Susanna Reid often lets bolshy Piers Morgan take the helm whilst presenting on Good Morning Britain.

When former newspaper editor Piers goes off on a rant, Susanna tends to let him harp on often sucks in her lips and slinks back in her seat.

The pair also engage in flirty banter - most recently with Piers urging his co-host to have a naked photo of herself taken for her 50th birthday - which makes it tricky to figure out their friendship and what they really think about one another.

Body language expert Judi James believes Susanna "quietly sits looking sweet" alongside her colleague as it is the "only way to work" with him.

She pens on Bonusfinder : "I don't get any sign that Susanna is intrinsically enjoying the professional relationship here, she in a way should, with all her experience and profile, be the body language lead on screen.

"When doing news reading or breakfast television you tend to get the lead person who does the heavyweight interviews and takes up all the room, and then you traditionally get the one that sits there looking sweeter.

"I would imagine at times she could possibly be sitting on a whole head-of-steam about that quietly, but probably the only way to work with Piers is to take that approach.

Judie adds that she thinks "Piers can occasionally do this verbal mock flirting" as "a business technique" but that "can seem to be diminishing the person you are working with."

She continued: "I always get the impression that when they will go off screen, she will have a bit of banter and then hopefully turn to more friendship and laughter.

"So, I wouldn't say it's 100% hate! I would imagine that if Piers stepped down at some stage though, we might just see a relieved facial expression from Susanna on screen."

This year the TV pair celebrated working on GMB together for five-years.

Writing for the Daily Mail about the work anniversary Susanna revealed that they argue both on and off camera.

"Piers calls me his 'TV wife' and this year we celebrate our fifth anniversary together presenting Good Morning Britain . Luckily, due to the coronavirus, we now sit at a two-metre distance and the ban on any physical contact means, despite reaching this landmark, we won't have to hug each other," she penned.

"We're one of those couples who fight, and it's not just for the cameras. We often have rows in the editorial meeting that we continue on air... Truth be told, by the time I get home, I feel like I've been through the wringer."
