Strictly’s Nicola Adams seen in public for first time since dropping out of show

Nicola Adams has been seen out in public for the first time since she was forced to quit Strictly Come Dancing.

The boxing champ made history on the BBC One contest when she became part of its first ever same-sex couple with Katya Jones.

But sadly, she was forced to drop out just a few weeks into the series after professional Katya tested positive for coronavirus.

Because they'd been in close contact with each other, Nicola had to go into self-isolation to keep others safe.

Nicola, 38, was pictured outside for the first time today as she emerged from her 14 days of quarantine.

Unfortunately these days, there's not much reason to go outside other than taking the bins out.

Nicola was seen wrapped up for the cold weather as she carried the recycling out to her wheelie bin.

She looked a little forlorn as she sorted through the boxes and bags she was carrying.

Nicola was wearing navy tracksuit bottoms and a matching hoodie, pulled up over the top of a knitted hat.

She added a black gilet for an extra layer of warmth before heading out.

Despite being forced to bow out of the competition, Nicola has confirmed that she'll return for one last dance with Katya.

On spin-off It Takes Two, Zoe Ball asked her: "A little birdie has told me that you will be returning to the Strictly stage, what can you tell us, Nicola?"

Nicola responded: "Well as the saying goes I do like doing the most. Me and Katya will be coming back."

Zoe clarified that Nicola and Katya won't be competition again but that they will be returning to the show for another performance.

The presenter said: "I'm just pointing out it's not to compete but they are coming back to dance one more time."

Both Nicola and Katya were gutted when their time in the contest came to an abrupt end.

Nicola said in a video: "I just wanted to say thank-you for the lovely messages and the support, its been unbelievable and I did not expect such a nice response.

"It's completely blown me away. I've never received so much love from people that I don't even know and it really hit home to me, what this journey meant.

"Not just to me but to everybody else as well.

"And I just want you to know that regardless of the situation I will continue to break boundaries and make changes and continue fighting for what's right and, just thank-you for having my back and being there when I needed you."
