Nicola Adams and Katya Jones were spotted laughing away as they left Strictly Come Dancing auditions together.

It was this week confirmed that Olympic boxing champ, 37, and professional dancer, 31, are the first ever same-sex pair on the hit BBC One show as they were seen leaving the building together.

Ballroom pro Katya previously made it known to bosses that she would "love" to be considered as part of the same-sex pairing.

Meanwhile, Nicola reportedly told Strictly bosses that being in a same-sex couple was 'non-negotiable'.

And though the pairings have not yet been officially announced, the pair were spied heading out of rehearsals together.

Katya was spotted stepping out of the building first, with Nicola following closely behind her as they appeared to be the only contestants in the building at the time.

The pair were all smiles as they exited the premises, with Nicola opting for a casual hooded jacket and sweatpants for the occasion.

She topped off her look with a pair of trainers, and a black padded gilet over her jacket in a bid to not freeze in the chilly weather.

Meanwhile Katya wrapped a huge scarf around her neck as her simple look featured a bold red lip as well as a double denim combo.

Earlier this year, the pro dancer said: "I would love to dance with a woman on the show.

"I think creatively it would be really interesting and I love coming up with new ideas for stuff."

Nicola's told in recent weeks about how she agreed to put her name down for the show if she could dance with another woman.

She explained: "They wanted to know if I wanted to be on the show, and I said, 'Yeah, I'll do it, but I want to dance with another female'.

"It's really important, and it’s a big step for the show as well. It's nice to see that we're able to move on. I just can't wait to get some dancing done."

What's more, Nicola said it's "amazing" that she's going to be part of such a massive change.

She previously told BBC Breakfast: "It's amazing to be a part of the movement for change, diversity and breaking boundaries in the entertainment industry.

"It's really important, it's a big step for the show as well. It's nice to see we've been able to move on and I just can't wait to get some dancing done really."

She went on to reveal that it was actually her idea to approach Strictly bosses about a same-sex pairing, saying: "I asked the show about it.

"They wanted to know if I wanted to be on the show and I said, 'yeah I'll do it but I want to dance with another female dance partner'."

Mirror Online has contacted Nicola and Katya's reps for comment.
