Maisie Smith has revealed that she's actually put on weight during her ongoing Strictly Come Dancing stint.

The EastEnders star, 19, admitted that despite the gruelling training and rehearsals, she's actually piled on the pounds instead of shedding them.

Speaking to Heat mag, she said: "It's weird. Everyone always says, 'Going on this show, you're just going to shed the weight.'

"But I haven't noticed that about myself because I eat triple the amount of food I was eating before. I think I'm the only celeb to actually put on weight."

And when it came to naming the culprit behind her weight gain, Maisie was quick to point at doughnuts.

"Doughnuts," she said. "Gorka and I have a bag of doughnuts every single day, so that's probably not going to help. Then I eat a lot of fajitas. I eat them every day. That's all I know how to cook.

"Fajitas and doughnuts, that's my diet right now. That's something of a balance, isn't it?"

But despite gaining weight, Maisie has recently admitted that the hit BBC One dance show has made her more confident to wear skimpy outfits.

Maisie admitted she’s battled insecurities about her body for years but has now found a new lease of self-love thanks to the show.

Maisie, who is famed for playing Tiffany Butcher on the BBC soap, told how she’s embracing her new-found sex appeal and even thanked her fellow dancing stars for making her feel good about skimpy outfits.

"Being on Strictly has really boosted my confidence. I've worked really hard the past seven weeks and I've got fitter,” Maisie told the Daily Star Sunday.

She added: "Also, I've been around really lovely people. I've spoken about my lack of confidence with a few of the other contestants. I spoke to Clara about it and she really helped me with it all.

"This time a year ago, I wouldn't have felt comfortable wearing the [Strictly] costumes. They're all absolutely crazy."
