Stacey Solomon has put her initial shock at Joe Swash's camper van to one side to head out for drive in the new vehicle - but not before putting her own finishing touch to the interiors first.

The DIY queen revealed she'd done some handiwork on the £45,000 van that Joe drove miles to surprise her with this weekend.

Stacey admitted to fans she hadn't been too impressed with the purchase which she dubbed a 'monstrosity' and walked straight past it before Joe confirmed it was theirs for the taking.

Dad Joe said he wanted to 'make memories' with Stacey and their boys with the portable home.

After getting over her initial shock, Loose Women star Stacey has shared how she's transformed the van in keeping with her tastes.

"The boys are so excited we are going to take the caravan for a spin. But not before we've made it a bit more homely," she told her online fans.

"Fejkas to the rescue" cried Stacey, before showing her army of plants she proceeded to decorate the van with.

She then shared a clip of her signature Instagram move - a tidy snack cupboard - with featured neatly arranged chocolate bars as well as crisps attached to tiny hangers.

It wasn't long before Stacey had the place looking like home.

"Really enjoying myself," she told fans as she set to work.

She then moved on to the fridge which she stocked with perfectly aligned beverages before cleaning the sink and hob until they were sparkling.

"So many little cubby holes that are giving me life," said an ecstatic Stacey as she got on board with Joe's big money purchase.

She then used one of the compartments to stash her own hair accessories before finding a spot for a blanket and bunny for son Rex.

When the family were finally ready to hit the road, Stacey admitted: "I don't know why but I feel really emotional."

"I just keep thinking we could go anywhere (legally we can't because of Covid) but you know what I mean," she explained.

Stacey's U-turn comes after she shared her shocked reaction to Joe's purchase of the fancy motorphome.

In her Instagram stories, Stacey expresses her disbelief before appearing to try and gently push her beau onto the bed.

"Oh my god, what the hell Joe? When did you get that!" Stacey expressed, before fuming about Joe falling onto the bed she had just made.

Alongside the clip, Stacey wrote a description and explained that she thought the van belonged to someone else when she first saw it.

She wrote: "Is he actually joking....I was so tired last night I walked past that monstrosity thinking someone had parked up and gone to the pub or something only to find out it's ours apparently."

Stacey revealed that her surprise was more directed at how quickly Joe had committed to the purchase.

Joe travelled quite the distance on Friday to pick up the custom-made camper, which he bought for a whopping £45,000.

"What Stacey don't know is I've come all the way to Whitley Bay to Southlands Motors to pick up this,” Joe shared on social media.

The former Coronation Street actor then had to drive his new set of wheels back down south to surprise Stacey and the kids.
