Sophie Kasaei sweetly congratulates ex-boyfriend Joel Corry on number 1 single

Sophie Kasaei has heaped praise on her ex-boyfriend Joel Corry after he topped the UK music charts on Friday with his single Head & Heart.

The 30-year-old reality star dated 31-year-old Joel for six years between 2011 and 2017 and they featured together on the first three seasons of MTV’s scandalous show Geordie Shore.

Sophie and Joel’s romance came to an abrupt end in September 2017 – with Joel even blocking Sophie on social media after their romance collapsed.

However, Sophie has always insisted there are no hard feelings over being dumped by the reality star-turned musician.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, Joel shared his shock and delight that his tune with singer songwriter MNEK had romped to the top of the charts after three weeks of release.

Sharing a snap of himself posing with an Official Charts trophy, Joel wrote: “Best moment of my life!! Official UK Number 1.

“Congrats @MNEK you deserve this so much brother.

“Thank you everyone who’s supported me over the years! Blessed to have an amazing team behind me, and a family that always believed in me. This is a dream come true.”

Sophie was among the first to congratulate the chart topping star.

She tweeted in reply: “Woohooo yes Joel!!! We all so proud of you! Hard work always pays off.”

Back in December 2017, Sophie explained that Joel had dumped her over the phone.

She told new! magazine at the time: "He was like, ‘I don’t know what it is Soph, but I just don’t think it’s going to work.’

“I was instantly like, ‘What the hell, is there another girl?’ He said there wasn’t but went, ‘I just don’t think that you and me will have a future because it’s just not what I want and I know you do. You want to settle down, and it’s understandable, but it’s just not for me and it’s not what I want.’”

Despite moving to Essex to be with the hunk, Sophie said she didn’t feel upset about their romance ending – and revealed Joel blocked her from contacting him for their own good.
