Line of Duty's Martin Compston lifts lid on future of the show
Line of Duty star Martin Compston is swapping the evidence locker for the football locker room.
The 38-year-old plays role of DS Steve Arnott in anti-corruption unit AC-12, tackling corrupt police officers right under their nose.
The ground-breaking role helped amount his incredible fortune of approximately £3.5m, according to CelebrityNetWorth, as well as other roles on series such as Vigil, The Nest, Our House, and Mary Queen of Scots.
However, many may be surprised to know that before stepping into the glitzy world of fame as an on-screen actor - he had a completely different career.
Martin played for Scottish professional football club Greenock Morton and also appeared for Celtic in a number of high-profile testimonials and charity matches.

The former professional footballer will be taking his sporting expertise to the pitch this Sunday as he's playing for the Rest of the World in Soccer Aid's charity football match.
He will join alongside famous faces for the special day, including the likes of former One Direction star Liam Payne and former Love Island winner Kem Cetinay.
Away from the cameras, Martin has been happily married to his wife Tianna Chanel Flynn since 2016.
The brunette actress and real-estate agent even made a brief appearance on the popular BBC show.
The lovebirds make sure to optimise their life away from the spotlight as they enjoy a glamorous life by residing in Las Vegas.
Martin and Tianna have made sure to optimise the most of their combined as they splashed out a whopping £300K on their Vegas mansion.
Fans might recognise Tianna for shows, including Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader, and she also made an appearance in Line of Duty series five.

Lady-loving DS Arnott received a message on a dating app from a woman called Tina Watts, and the profile picture used was actually of his wife.
Martin Compston's real life couldn't be more different to his alter-ego's dark existence as AC-12's Steve.
He and his wife live in a jaw-dropping exclusive gated community with their baby son and pet Pitbull King.
The family enjoy a luxe life in the City of Sin within an incredible pad, which features include tranquil gardens, an incredible pool, a sweeping staircase and Tennent's lager on tap for Martin.
It also has sweeping mountain views and is within driving distance of the Grand Canyon.
For Martin, after years of saving for his dream home, the pool was a must-have.
He told The Sunday Post : “The Strip is the tourist trap, but Vegas is suburbia. A couple of million people live there and it’s so quiet.

“I love it. The weather is great, obviously, and compared to Los Angeles and London you get so much more for your money.
"I’ve never been flash with anything. I’ve never really spent my money or liked fancy cars, so we saved to hopefully get a bit of a dream home.
“I wanted to get a place with a pool. It’s an incredible feeling when you’re from Greenock and you can get your family over to stay and you’ve got a swimming pool out your back," he added.
"The most therapeutic thing in the world is cleaning your pool, walking about mopping up your leaves."
In 2019, the pair confirmed that they were expecting their first child together.
Martin and Tianna choose not to share photo of their child or give insight into their name as the BBC actor explained he's keen on keeping their little one out of the spotlight.
However, he did open up about the challenges of fatherhood, telling the Daily Mail: "Being a new parent is exhilarating but tough, and it's harder if you're living it in the public eye.
"I don't think I'm being overly private – everyone who needs to know my kid, knows him.'

And he's more than happy to gush about his wife, who he is clearly besotted with.
"She's the person whose advice I value the most. She'll just tell me straight when I'm overthinking things, or being an idiot," he continued.
"I'd be lost without her, I think. We're just a perfect fit."
Martin and his future wife first looked eyes during a night out in Los Angeles - where American-born Tianna was working as a nightclub manager at Hudson Hotel.
After years coping with long distance, the pair tied the knot in a stunning ceremony at Mar Hall, Renfrewshire, and decided to put down roots in Tianna's home town of Vegas, just two streets away from her mum.
Whilst Martin undoubtedly loves to soak up the sun in Vice City, he'll be returning to UK grounds this Sunday.
Soccer Aid takes place on Sunday, June 12 - it will be broadcast live on ITV with kick-off at 7.30pm.
