Simon Cowell 's half-brother Tony Cowell poked fun at the Britain's Got Talent judge with a cheeky joke about his recent accident.

As the 60-year-old talent show mogul recovered from breaking his back at his home in Los Angeles, Tony took a hilarious swipe at his sibling on social media.

Sharing a picture of a bicycle on his Twitter profile, journalist Tony appeared to make reference to Simon's electric bike blunder.

Alongside the photograph, the columnist wrote: "A bike. A normal bike. Much safer than electric bike. #Greece."

Tony's followers were quick to draw the connection and were loving the cheeky banter.

"Sibling banter means getting away with stuff no-one else EVER could," joked one follower.

Another added: "Hope bro is on the mend. X"

A third simply penned: "ouch."

Tony's hilarious joke came weeks after Simon dramatically fell from his electric bike while testing it out at his home in Los Angeles.

The television judge broke his back in the nasty incident and was rushed into surgery shortly afterward where he had a steel rod inserted into his back.

Despite his recent injury, Simon is said to be on the mend and was even dubbed "the Terminator" by his friends.

A pal revealed to The Sun : "One of his friends joked that the metal holding him together makes him The Terminator - which amused Simon.

"He won’t mind if that sticks, but the main thing is that he’s on the mend."

It seems that doctors have insisted that Simon remain at home while he continues to recover, meaning that he has been unable to return to the UK for the Britain's Got Talent semi-finals.

As the show returned last night, viewers were initially left baffled by Simon's absence after he was replaced by Diversity's Ashley Banjo.

However, by the end of the show some fans were eager to have Ashley Banjo become a permanent judge on the show because of his honest and straight-forward judging techniques.
