Simon Cowell is forced to face the facts after Britain's Got Talent ratings plummeted from last year's 10.1 million to 6.5 million this year.

Viewing numbers suffered a major blow as they sank from last year's 10.1 million to a low of 6.5 million this year, reports The Sun.

The talent show judge, 61, will be forced to pick up the pieces as this year's BGT was plagued by numerous Ofcom complaints following a number of controversial moments on the show.

In fact, the show managed to secure a top spot as the most complained-about TV show of the decade.

This series alone racked up a whopping 28,000 Ofcom complaints after viewers were left outraged at the judge's racy frocks and Diversity 's Black Lives Matter-inspired routine.

The dance group's routine triggered thousands of complaints alone, making it the most moaned-about moment of the series by far.

That, teamed with Amanda Holden's outfit choices as well as some controversial auditions secured BGT a spot in the history books.

The hit ITV series - fronted by Ant and Dec - has received a total of 27,898 official Ofcom complaints this year.

Diversity's compelling routine - which racked up more than 24,000 complaints - saw the group reenact the heartless murder of George Floyd earlier this year.

The tragic event sparked the massive Black Lives Matter movement and has since been a turning point for organisations across the globe.

Diversity frontman Ashley Banjo had a police officer kneel on his neck during the routine, in the same way Mr Floyd was killed.

The dance routine's message seemed to have fallen on thousands of deaf ears as Ofcom had its work cut out for them after the fact.

Elsewhere, Amanda just can't seem to catch a break about her outfit choices as she triggered 136 Ofcom complaints in just one night over her latest jaw-dropping gown, which gave a glimpse of her lace corset.

Her shiny blue frock raised a lot of eyebrows among viewers, as she received 235 Ofcom complaints over the dress after viewers were convinced they could see her nipples.

Other viewers complained to Ofcom about some of the material in comedian Nabil Abdulrashid's routine.

The funnyman covered a wide variety of topics during his time on stage from racism to fat phobia.

Ofcom reported that 733 viewers got in touch to vent abut comedian Nabil's jokes about race.
