Schitt’s Creek Star Dan Levy Launches New Gender Fluid Eyewear Brand

Schitt’s Creek creator and star Dan Levy played the fashion-forward David Rose on the hilarious Canadian sitcom for six seasons, and now that the series is over he is shifting his focus to fashion. Levy is relaunching his gender-fluid eyewear brand D.L. Eyewear, which he initially founded 10 years ago and first took to the market in 2013.

According to In Style, Levy will release 23 new, versatile frames through the D.L. Eyewear brand on August 9th, and that includes both sun and optical options. Each pair of glasses has a price of $135, and Levy intends for the line to be a more affordable option for those with a taste for high fashion.

“D.L. Eyewear is the result of decades of experimenting with my own eyewear,” Levy told the outlet. “Essentially, eyewear should be fun. The thrill of matching a frame to your mood. The exploration of personal style. The building of an optical wardrobe. I wanted to create special yet accessible frames that people would love to wear and collect.”

The new eyewear line features numerous colors and shapes, and there is no doubt that Moira Rose would approve. Not only does the brand offer customers a variety of stylish options, but it also gives back.

Levy says that the brand’s motto is “see with love,” and he inscribed those three words inside of every frame. He wants it to be a daily reminder for people to “live their lives with kindness, love, and empathy.”

The former MTV veejay added that the mottos also reflected the brand’s decision to give back through their support of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). The organization assists small businesses – including those owned by members of the LGBTQ+ community, women, and people of color – that are located in disadvantaged communities.

Levy explained that D.L. Eyewear is also a small business, and he hopes that their support of LISC will ensure that the growth of D. L. Eyewear also advances others.

The new frames from D.L. Eyewear will be available to shop beginning August 9 on thisisdl.com, and the press release reveals that additional frames will be available on the site “when they are ready” instead of following a seasonal schedule.

The first five seasons of Schitt’s Creek are currently available for streaming on Netflix, and Season 6 will debut on the platform in October.
