Us Magazine reported today that the Vanderpump Rules star, Scheana Shay, got a tattoo of a poppy flower on her inner arm as a way of remembering the child she recently lost in a miscarriage.
The 35-year-old reality star shared an image of her new tattoo in a YouTube video posted earlier in the week. You can check it out in the clip below:
According to Us Magazine, Shay discussed her many tattoos, 21 in total, in the emotional YouTube video. She said that the last tattoo she got was meant to symbolize the child she and her man recently lost. Doctors told her their baby was the size of a “poppy seed.”
She really liked poppy flowers, so Shay chose to get one on her body as a way of remembering. “I think it’s probably my favorite one,” Shay explained.
As it was previously reported, Shay took to her social media earlier this year to discuss her experiences with a miscarriage. It was during a June episode of her podcast, Sheananigans.
Reportedly, doctors told her she was expecting just a few weeks after they told her it would be impossible for her to have kids on her own. Shay has openly discussed the fact she had her eggs frozen before.
The reality star explained how she became very concerned when she noticed she was bleeding everywhere while on a trip to San Diego. Shay and Davies were excited about the pregnancy when they first found out, but the excitement soon turned into grief.
At the time of her podcast revelation, Shay had been waiting patiently to miscarry after discovering her baby had died. She described it as a horrible “mindf*ck.”
Scheana went on to congratulate her former Vanderpump Rules co-star, Stassi Schroeder, who recently revealed she was going to have her first baby with Beau Clark following her firing from the popular reality TV series.
Rather than deal with rumors and speculation about her pregnancy, Shay says she just wanted to get her “story out (her) way.”
