Sarah Harding has updated fans about her breast cancer battle as she admitted 'things are tough' but she's being as 'brave as she knows how.'
It's the first time Sarah has spoken out since she first revealed she'd been diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer in August.
Taking to Instagram, the singer wrote: "Hi everyone. Thank you so much for all the messages of love and support that I’ve received since my last post. Everyone has been so kind and reading your comments and DMs has been such a huge source of strength to me.
"I can’t deny that things are tough right now but I’m fighting as hard as I possibly can and being as brave as I know how."
The Girls Aloud star, 39, also revealed that she has been working with publishers on a book about her life story.
Sarah said that she finished her autobiography, entitled Hear Me Out , this week and it will be released in time for Christmas.
The book is set to chart Sarah's childhood in Ascot through to winning Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 with her Girls Aloud bandmates and her subsequent years in the spotlight.
She revealed: "In September the lovely people at Ebury Publishing asked me if I would be interested in writing a book about my life story. It came at such a good time for me as it’s given me something fun and positive to focus on while I’ve been stuck at home in between trips to the hospital for treatment. I’ve nearly finished it now and this week Mum and I have been looking though old photos choosing which ones to include. It’ll be out after Christmas and I’m really proud of it. I hope you’ll like it. "Sending lots of love to everyone – I hope you’re all keeping well - S x" she finished her post.
Sarah first opened up about her diagnosis back in August after having puzzled fans with her apparent disappearance from the limelight.
Alongside a picture of her dressed in a hospital gown, Sarah wrote: "Earlier this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and a couple of weeks ago I received the devastating news that the cancer has advanced to other parts of my body.
Paying tribute to her mum Marie Hardman, she added: "My amazing mum, family and close friends are helping me through this.
“I want to say a thank you to the wonderful NHS doctors and nurses who have been and continue to be heroes.”
Sarah has been living with her mum Marie in Manchester while undergoing intensive treatment.
Devoted Marie is said to have been Sarah's rock during the last few months and invited her daughter to move in so she can help take care of her.
Sarah's Girls Aloud bandmates have also been sharing their support in troubled times.
Immediately after Sarah's announcement, Cheryl posted a broken-heart emoji to her Twitter.
Nadine Coyle and Kimberley Walsh chose to respond directly to Sarah's post.
"I love you!!! You have always been able to achieve miracles when needed!! I am here for all the way & always will be!!" said Nadine.
While Kimberley shared: "My heart is broken. You are so strong and brave and we are with you every step of the way."
Nicola Roberts tweeted: "It goes without saying that this is blindsiding. @SarahNHarding you’re so loved and supported."
It had been reported the fivesome were in talks for a Girls Aloud anniversary reunion before Sarah fell ill.
After a winning turn on CelebrityBig Brother in 2017, Sarah had opted to live a quiet life - quitting social media and taking her website off line.
Her last public appearance was back in March, 2018 when she attended the National Film Awards in London.
