Rod Stewart, 77, and his wife Penny Lancaster, 51, enjoyed a holiday in Italy with seven of his children

Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster beamed as they posed with seven of his children in a rare family snap on holiday.

The family are rarely seen together, however the clan enjoyed a trip to the luxurious Italian hotspot.

Loose Women panellist Penny took to Instagram to share the sweet snap and added the caption: "Stewart Clan comes together #family #kids #siblings @sirrodstewart @alastairwstewart @thekimberlystewart @seanstewart @rubystewart @renee__stewart @discostew94 #aidenstewart."

The Maggie May hitmaker, 77, looked dapper in a brown and cream checked shirt and added a pair of patterned blue silk trousers.

The proud father-of-eight stood in front of a yacht in a Portofino with Penny, who wore a white linen dress and sandals.

To the left of them was Rod's son Alastair, 16, son Sean, 41 and daughter Kimberly, 42.

Then to their right was Ruby, 35, and Renee, 30, as well as his son ice hockey player Liam, 27.

The singer's youngest son Aiden, 11, proudly stood front and centre in a white and brown striped shirt with a pair of burgundy knee-length shorts with socks and sliders.

Fans flocked to the comment section to gush over the family.

One wrote: "That’s a fabulous photograph of you all!"

While another said: "Great to have all your kids together," and a third wrote: "Great picture! It should be framed!!!"

"Such a great crew. Have a wonderful time. Loving the photos," a fourth chimed.

Just last week Rod cuddled up to Penny during a "hot and sultry" date night in New York.

The pair posed together at The Peninsula Manila's signature Salon de Ning in the high-end rooftop bar.

Rod is currently taking a break from his North American tour, where he put a fantastic show in Toronto, Ontario on Tuesday.

Dressed in a snazzy silver suit and rhinestone-studded trainers Rod strutted his stuff in front of thousands of adoring fans.

He is gearing up to take the stage in Michigan on Friday night, which will then be followed by performances in Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.

During the Italian holiday, he and Penny took a break from sunbathing to catch the Celtic game against Aberdeen.

Holiday makers also spotted that he draped his five star hotel balcony with two Celtic flags.

The singer also added a flag to the luxury yacht that they spent the day on.
