Rocker Tommy Lee drank two gallons of vodka a day at height of his alcohol abuse

Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee made the shocking confession that he used to drink two gallons of vodka every single day before going to rehab

Rocker Tommy Lee has made the shocking confession that he used to drink two gallons of vodka every single day.

The Motley Crue drummer admitted that he was consuming the staggering amounts of alcohol at the height of his substance abuse battle, before heading to rehab.

Tommy, who turned 58 this weekend, confessed all about his unruly behaviour during a wild bender last year, which came after he'd been sober for four years.

He told Yahoo Entertainment that his wife, Brittany Furlan, became increasingly concerned about his boozing.

He said: "I was like, 'Oh dude, I've got to stop'. Like, I was drinking just out of boredom. I would just wake up and be just building [a cocktail with] just all vodka and just a little eyedropper of cranberry or lemonade.

"I was drinking two gallons — not pints, not quarts, but gallons, the big-handles — a day. That’s f**king crazy."

The dad-of-two said after realising how much alcohol he was consuming on a daily basis, he began to worry about the impact it could have on his health.

He said: "I just realized, 'Whoa dude, you're drinking enough to like, you could probably die'."

It was Brittany, 34, who intervened and encouraged Tommy to seek help.

He said: "She was like, 'Baby, I don’t think I've ever even seen anybody drink that much. Like, you're kind of scaring me'.

"She was definitely concerned, and her concern obviously helped in my decision to [check back into rehab]."

Tommy, who was famously married to Pamela Anderson, had a huge reputation as a party animal during the 1980s and 90s as he toured with his metal band.

Despite his antics, Tommy says he hasn't experienced any permanent or lasting health effects.

Tommy is now due to release Andro, his third solo studio album, and his first in 15 years.

Before the coronavirus pandemic hit, Motley Crue were planning to go back out on the road for a reunion tour.
