Rebel Wilson has opened up about her eating habits that sparked her to embark on a "year of health" to change her life around.
The 40-year-old Pitch Perfect star has lost almost three stones in weight over the past 11 months and has completely overhauled her diet and exercise regime.
This has resulted in a change in wellbeing and her feelings about herself as she embraces a new, slighter frame.
Rebel has told People that it was her lifestyle that prompted her to pause and reflect on where she was heading, with a switch to a high-protein diet being behind her path to a better relationship with food.
She revealed that she was consuming thousands of calories a day as she fell into a spiral of chasing her desire to eat.
The Australian actress said: "Before I was probably eating 3,000 calories most days, and because they were normally carbs, I would still be hungry."
Rebel continued to reveal what changes she has made.
She added: "So, I've really changed to eating a high-protein diet, which is challenging because I didn't used to eat a lot of meat.
"I eat fish, salmon, and chicken breast.”
Despite Rebel saying that this was her "year of health", she has also admitted that there is still room for a little cheating on the diet, here and there.
She continued: "It doesn't mean every week is a healthy week.
"Some weeks are just write offs, and there’s nothing you can do about that.”
Opening up about her diet, Rebel added: "I'm just trying to go for overall balance, overall healthy balance.
"I have this state of being, which is not my quote, but I go 'Nothing is forbidden.' We’ll be like, 'Should we get In-N-Out burger?' And I'm like, 'Nothing is forbidden.' I can go there, I just might eat half of what I used to eat before.
"You know? And I'll have a burger, and a few fries, and then you feel fine."
Rebel has also credited the coronavirus pandemic as another reason why she has been able to concentrate on making her diet work, as she has been unable to work for much of the year.
She said: "I really took it as time to get really well-rested and de-stress. Because most of my stress is work-related.
"I definitely think with the slow down, it did help.
"I think I was emotional eating, and overeating at times, because I wasn't loving myself enough either. And it does come down to that self worth and self love."
