Strictly's Ranvir Singh hoping to lose lockdown weight after gaining a stone
Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Ranvir Singh hoping that by kickstarting training, she'll shed the stone she gained while cooped up at home amid the pandemic
Strictly Come Dancing’s Ranvir Singh is excited to get her dancing shoes on in a bid to shed the pounds after gaining weight in lockdown.
The television presenter, 43, is hoping that by kickstarting her dance training, she will lose the stone she put on while cooped up at home during the pandemic.
Ranvir was confirmed as an upcoming contestant for the long-awaited return of the hit BBC One competition earlier this month.
Speaking to Women’s Own magazine, she revealed how she felt about joining the cast of Strictly 2020 which is set to be completely different from previous years while social distancing guidelines are still heavily in place across the UK.
Although she’s excited to bust some moves on the infamous dancefloor, Ranvir was honest in her admissions when she insisted that she couldn't wait to start training so she can get back in shape.
The This Morning star joked that Strictly’s wardrobe department will have a tough job on their hands trying to fit her in clothes following her lockdown weight gain.
“We don't all have the body confidence of Richard Arnold. The wardrobe department will have their hands in full in more than one way.
"I put on a stone in lockdown so if the training helps shed the pounds maybe I'll become braver as it goes on.”
She continued: “I'll be glad to get out of my Uggs and puffa jackets! I just hope I can remember to walk in heels, never mind dance in them."
Ranvir has been dealing with a lot throughout lockdown, and earlier this week, she confirmed her marriage breakdown for the first time.
With her Strictly debut just weeks away, she shone some light on the end of her marriage to her ex Ranjeet Singh Dehal.
Her representative confirmed to Mirror Online the couple split up "many years ago".
They were wed in 2012 but it's only come to light recently their marriage crumbled.
In a new interview, the mum admitted it's tough being a single mum to her son Tushaan.
