Pregnant Katy Perry plans to be back on stage just months after giving birth

Pop star Katy Perry might be about to become a mum – but she insists her first baby won’t stop her going on tour.

The Part Of Me singer, who is expected to give birth to her daughter any day now, revealed she wants to be back on stage promoting upcoming album Smile as early as January.

Katy, 35, said: “I’d like to tell you I have a set in stone plan but, you know, I don’t because we have no idea how it’s going to fare over winter. I think things will get a little bit clearer in January/February.

“Yeah, just keep praying. My hope is to be back on some sort of stage by next year for sure.”

Katy also told radio listeners she thinks virtual shows are already old hat.

She joked: “We can’t keep doing these Zooms, guys. One more Zoom link and I’m just going to crack. I’m going to dress up as a Zoom link for Halloween. Now that’s terrifying.”

This week Katy also hinted she will soon head to Japan – the venue for her wedding to Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom, which was postponed because of the Covid crisis.

Asked where she would like to go first after restrictions lift, she said: “I’m such a lover of Japan. That would be amazing.
