Pregnant Kate Ferdinand shows off baby bump on first wedding anniversary with Rio

It's been a whole year since the former TOWIE star said 'I do' to Rio Ferdinand at a sun-drenched ceremony in Turkey

Kate Ferdinand paid tribute to her unborn son as she celebrated her first wedding anniversary with husband Rio Ferdinand.

The pregnant former TOWIE star took to Instagram on the special occasion to pose for a photo in a slinky velvet dress.

Kate, 29, cradled her blossoming bump in the photo and explained her outfit choice in the caption: "Blue today for our baby boy."

The glowing expectant mum and her hubby Rio, 41, got dressed up to mark one year of marriage in style.

This time last year Kate and Rio tied the knot in a stunning ceremony at D Maris Bay hotel in Turkey.

On their anniversary, the couple both shared a glimpse at the epic three-day bash by posting a behind-the-scenes highlights reel to their respective Instagram pages.

The footage showed the couple partying before their wedding, saying their vows in front of a stunning ocean backdrop and then enjoying their first dance as a married couple at their lavish reception.

A loved-up Kate said: "1 year today All emotional watching this. Memories I will cherish forever... The best weekend with our family and friend. I love you baby @rioferdy5".

Kate announced earlier this year she was expecting her first child with the football pundit.

The former TOWIE star is already step-mum to Rio's three kids; Lorenz, 14, Tate, 11, and Tia, nine.

Speaking on the Women's Health Going for Goal podcast this month, Kate candidly admitted she had struggled juggling her various responsibilities during lockdown.

"Obviously I was pregnant and the children didn't know, and something I've struggled with is being pregnant with my first biological child and still being a mum.

“So I felt I had all these new experiences… but I was still a stepmother or mother figure to three kids. I struggle with my mental health. Being active helps day-to-day with my anxiety, so when I can't do things, I struggle with it.”

Kate said she didn't have the energy to go the gym in her first three months but now feels a 'bit more normal.'

As well as exercising to relieve her mental health issues, Kate said she also tries to stay away from social media to protect her sanity.
