Pregnant Kate Ferdinand has reportedly been mulling over doing a TV documentary about becoming a mother.

It's fierce competition out there; series including First Time Mum With Ferne McCann and The Mummy Diaries With Sam Faiers are popular with fans.

But reports claim an educative spin on the documentary could set her one-off series apart from the other reality mummy series out there.

Kate may be getting ready to give birth for the first time, but she's already got lots of great experience as a step-mum.

The former TOWIE bombshell become a stepmum to her husband Rio Ferdinand's three children Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and Tia, eight, when they began dating.

While it's obvious she has no intention to let a showbiz career get in the way of family life, claims surfaced Kate has been considering a TV documentary.

A source told heat magazine: "She doesn't want to have a showbiz career that gets in the way of her family life, but she is considering a one-off documentary series about her life as a parent.

"It's a very high-end production company that has pitched the idea and it's going to be different to the other mummy reality shows out there.

"Kate has said that, if she does do something, she wants it to be educational like she did with the BBC. She would love to work with them again."

Mirror Online has approached Kate's representatives for further comment.

Cameras were rolling at their household for the BBC documentary Becoming A Stepfamily, which was inundated with praise.

Kate closed the door on her reality career on The Only Way Is Essex to focus on life with the footballer and his children.

Last year they tied the knot in a lavish three-day ceremony.

Now the couple have been preparing to welcome their first child together.
