Pokemon GO is still a go-go, even with the world in its current shambolic state, there’s no reason to stay indoors and miss out on the spooky Halloween Pokemon event arriving later this month. There are new additions to Pokemon GO, Halloween-themed events and items, and plenty more to check out.
The event starts on Friday, October 23rd at 6 pm PDT and lasts until November 3rd at 6 pm PDT. As an overview, Ghost-type Pokemon will appear more often, some Pokemon will be wearing spooky Halloween costumes, and Galarian Yamask makes its first appearance in Pokemon GO.

As you wander about in the cold October night, you’ll stumble across more Ghost Pokemon and encounter more in raids. They’ll also hatch more regularly from eggs.
Halloween-themed Field Research tasks give players direction during this Halloween event. Help out Professor Willow solve some spooky mysteries to uncover new types of Pokemon, such as Spiritomb. If you’re very lucky during the event you might encounter a Shiny version, the perfect addition to your collection.
Galarian Yamask is also making its first appearance in Pokemon GO. This bizarre Pokemon will be available after you help Professor Willow solve the “A Spooky Message Unmasked” event. Keep your eyes peeled!
Plus, it’s not only the Pokemon that can get dressed up for this special spooky event. New Halloween costumes will be available in the item shop to deck out your avatar with all sorts of items. Think Pikachu Mask, Banette Masks, or even a Gengar onesie.
The Halloween event will be split up into smaller mini-events, such as the Alolan Marowak Raid Day on Halloween day (October 31st), or the GO Battle League: Halloween cup, which takes place from Monday 26h and runs until November 3rd.
There are lots of different ways to celebrate the Halloween season on Pokemon GO, and as an added bonus you’ll get twice the amount of transfer candy and twice the amount of catch candy during the event.
You can find out more by following the official Pokemon GO Twitter account or checking out the announcement above for more details about the specific raids and events happening over the next couple of weeks.
