Piers Morgan has warned Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy’s legal proceedings could blow up in both their faces if the Wagatha Christie case heads to court.

The 55-year-old Good Morning Britain host feels trapped in the middle as he considers both the Rooney family and Vardy family as friends.

However, he has been watching on in shocked amazement like the rest of us since 34-year-old Coleen sensationally accused 38-year-old Rebekah of selling stories about her to the tabloids.

The ladies looks set to confront each other in an explosive court case after Coleen launched legal action accusing Rebekah of invasion of privacy, while Rebekah counter sued and accused Coleen of defamation.

Since June, it has been alleged the two women will appear in court due to Rebekah’s defamation case – with reports suggesting the legal action will cost £500,000 for each team.

Piers warns the entire saga could explode in the ladies’ faces.

He told the Sun: "It’s sad that it’s come to this where they’re at such loggerheads but you know, Rebecca was very convincing this stuff had nothing to do with her.

"She was adamant to me about it. I’m just trying to stay out of it, I just don’t take sides.

”But it's just been fascinating to watch them go at it.”

He warned that legal action could see the private lives of all involved being blown up in court.

Piers said: ”If they actually go to court, then I can’t imagine what's going to come out - it’s complete madness, because all your life gets spilled out."

A string of stars have seen their dirty laundry aired in court – and added to official records – in recent months.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have seen damaging and painful revelations being aired in public as a consequence of legal action that Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny has taken against The Sun.
