Piers Morgan got drawn into a light-hearted Twitter spat with his Good Morning Britain replacement Sean Fletcher after he made a joke about his weight.
The pair have been bantering on Twitter with Sean joking that he borrowed one of Piers' ties and it was way too big for him.
It was Sean's first time replacing Piers, 55, in the hotseat on GMB this week, and he shared a picture of himself with co-host Charlotte Hawkins.
In the snap, he was wearing a red tie and made a joke about stealing it from Piers' wardrobe while he was away.
He tweeted: "Really enjoyed working with @CharlotteHawkns and @alexberesfordTV on @gmb this week.
"FYI my red tie is from @piersmorgan’s wardrobe, so it normally fits around a slightly larger neck - that’s why it kept loosening."
Piers didn't let him get away with the jibe, and wrote back with a comment about the show's ratings while he's been away.
The newsman tweeted: "Shame you can’t borrow my much larger ratings too."
Sean sniped back: "21.3% for me and @CharlotteHawkns on Thursday’s @gmb@piersmorgan. Not a bad share with no promo/social media campaign."
Piers refused to let it lie, and added a joke about Sean's new hair, which he grew out suring lockdown.
He tweeted: "And with that hair too!" adding a winking face.
The banter between the pair comes as Piers prepares to return to the show after his lengthy holiday in France.
He cut his break short and dashed back to the UK before new rules came in forcing those returning from France to quarantine for 14 days.
If Piers hadn't made the dash back, it meant he could have missed his big return to GMB.
