Coronation Street: Stu mentions Piers Morgan
Piers Morgan has hit out at Coronation Street after the show's character Stu Carpenter made a dig at the Talk TV presenter.
During Friday night's episode, Stu and Yasmeen Nazir discussed a recent article about Speed Daal's charity initiative in which journalist Suki Waters made the pair out to be "very lovey-dovey".
Stu said: "Can I be honest? Suki makes Piers Morgan look like a Pulitzer Prize winner."
Responding to the comment on Twitter, 57-year-old Piers said: "I’ll deal with this later."
Fans seemed amused by the remark, with one person tweeting: "You have finally hit the big time piers, never mind Donald Trump. You have been named checked on Coronation Street, it doesn't get any better than that." [sic]

Another person said: "I bet they are shaking in their boots," with a laughing emoji.
One Coronation Street fan wrote: "You know it's an honour getting recognition in Corrie whatever the context!"
Earlier in the day, Piers criticised former chancellor Rishi Sunak after he was seen bragging about diverting funds from deprived urban areas into more affluent towns.
A clip taken in Tunbridge Wells at the end of last month shows the Tory leadership candidate saying Labour formulas targeting poorer parts of the country "needed to be undone".

Rishi told Tory Party members that he had started to change these formulas, to ensure "areas like this are getting the funding they deserve".
Sharing the video on Twitter, Piers said: "This is a terrible thing for Sunak to say/admit. What on earth was he thinking?"
Labour's shadow levelling up secretary, Lisa Nandy, also hit out at the comments.
She branded the revelation "scandalous" and said the Tories were "showing their true colours". She added that public cash should not be used as a "bribe" to Tory voters.

Ms Nandy wrote: "This is scandalous. Rishi Sunak is openly boasting that he fixed the rules to funnel taxpayers’ money to rich Tory shires.
"This is our money. It should be spent fairly and where it’s most needed – not used as a bribe to Tory members. Talk about showing your true colours…"
Mr Sunak's team said the comment had been taken out of context.
A campaign source said: "Levelling up isn't just about city centres, it's also about towns and rural areas all over the country that need help too.
"That's what he changed in the Green Book and he will follow though as Prime Minister.
"Travelling around the country, he's seen non-metropolitan areas that need better bus services, faster broadband in towns, or high quality schools. That's what he'll deliver as Prime Minister."
