Television journalist Piers Morgan has slammed A-level downgrading system in England as "disgraceful".
The Good Morning Britain, 55, has also called on Education Secretary Gavin Williamson to resign after it emerged that just under 40% of grades had been marked down.
Sharing a headline referring to nearly 40% of A-level results being downgraded with 280,000 students being left with lowered results, Piers shared his discontent.
He captioned the link: "Disgraceful."
Piers went on to share a tweet from Sky News reporter Jason Farrell, who wrote: "I’m at a school in East London today where 47% of students have had results downgraded from teachers predictions.
"Some predicted Cs have been given a U. Some A* predictions reduced to a B."
The revelation produced further ire from Piers who took out his anger on the Education Secretary, Gavin Williamson.
Piers wrote: "Resign @GavinWilliamson. Now."
He earlier attacked Williamson, writing: "In his piece for the Telegraph today, @GavinWilliamson expresses concern about people being over-promoted into jobs beyond their competence. Has he looked in a bloody mirror or around the current Cabinet table?"
Meanwhile, Williamson tweeted earlier today: "Congratulations to all students receiving results today – you should feel proud of everything you've achieved in these difficult circumstances.
"Thank you to all the teachers and staff who have supported their students, enabling them to take the next steps in their lives."
However, it appears many members of the public are in agreement with a furious Piers and replied to his tweet with sheer frustration.
One of Piers' followers commented: "My sons grade has lost him his dream uni place - his friends grades are all over the place Aswell looks like the uk gov used the Scottish algorithm - do the right thing give them their predicated grades this is a joke ! My heart is breaking watching@my son so upset".
Another upset parent wrote: "My daughters friends are distraught, after such a hard few months of worrying they are now handed this! I’m in tears."
Meanwhile, one heartbroken Twitter user noted: "Had my results downgraded by 6 grades, now not going to University and don't know what happens next".
Elsewhere, one Piers follower was in complete agreement with the TV journalist: "Teachers know their pupils better than any government minister. This downgrading grades seriously undermines all the hard work teachers do and is a terrible blow for pupils."
Finally, another commenter also hit out out Gavin Williamson, writing: " @GavinWilliamson I work in a school and can say that your personal handling of this crisis has been shambolic at best along with that of your department.
"This is just the latest example of the incompetence. If people think it can't get any worse wait until September..."
Yet, many doubt there will be any consequences for the upset over the grades.
One person noted: " Dominic Cummings didn't resign for what he did. Doubt Williamson will resign either, this government is still deluding people into thinking they're doing a great job."
Piers will no doubt keep on holding the UK government to account when he returns to Good Morning Britain after his summer break.
Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays on ITV.
