Philip Schofield has teased an exciting update on his tell-all memoir Life Is What You Make It on social media.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, the This Morning presenter promised to read snippets of the personal memoir on social media ahead of its release later this month.
The 58-year-old telly star took to his stories to share a sneak peek at the shiny new book, which is set to detail his personal journey of coming out as a gay man after 27 years of marriage with wife Stephanie Lowe.
Teasing the read-throughs, Philip told his followers: “My book is published on 15th October.
“So, I thought over the next couple of weeks, I will read a few bits out.
“So, yes! I’ll be giving you all a little taster of what’s to come on my Instagram stories.”
It was previously claimed the presenter was offered a staggering £1.5million deal to discuss his coming out journey, after publicly revealing he is gay during a poignant This Morning appearance.
After putting off writing his story, Philip explained that lockdown was the perfect opportunity for him to put pen to paper – something he has been contemplating for over 44 years.
Announcing the news on Instagram earlier this year, Phillip said: “I have something to tell you which I am very, very excited about. I have finally, after being asked for many years, written my book.
“I wrote the first line when I was 14, and I knew exactly how I wanted it to start, should I ever write it. And it is in fact now the first line.
“In 2017, I wrote the first few chapters and sent it a few friends and they said, 'Oh my god, you have to write this', and I knew I couldn’t, and you know why.
“And then my life changed, and lockdown happened and I had a shed load of time on my hands. I thought, 'Well, you’ve thought about it for long enough, you’ve written all these notes, why don’t you do it and see what happens?' and so I did. I wrote and I wrote and I loved it, and it’s done.”
“I will take you behind-the-scenes of my life and my career, and my family, my friends. The ups and downs that there have been. Lots of ups, lots of fun, but some really, very, very, emotional times as well," Phil promised.
“I’ve been honest, I’ve been me and it’s done. And I’ve discovered that, at the end of it, that life is indeed what you make it."
In true Philip style, he gifted the first ever copy of his memoir to his dear friend and This Morning co-presenter Holly Willoughby.
