Phillip Schofield gets agitated as eyesight deteriorates in July
Phillip Schofield has revealed he is now cured of the debilitating eye condition that left him unable to see properly.
The This Morning presenter took to Instagram on Friday to reveal his latest treatment to have his ‘floaters’ removed had been a success.
In a candid post, the 60-year-old welled up with emotion as he said he could see the night sky clearly for the “first time in years”.
Sharing a teary-eyed snap, he wrote: “Still a very dilated right eye BUT 100% floater free in both eyes!!!”

He continued: “For the first time in years... a beautiful clear blue sky. Might have just shed a little tear as I looked up into a blemish free blue sky.”
Following the operation Phil had followers in stitches after posting snaps of himself wearing ski goggles in bed to protect his eyes post-surgery.
Writing on top of the images, Phillip revealed the reason behind his eyewear as he penned: "'Sleep on your back to protect your eye' No way I can do that... so... Ski goggles!! Genuis".
In a later photo, Phillip added a hat to his ensemble and joked: "May as well go all in".
Earlier in the week, Phillip shared a photo of himself in a surgical gown surrounded by a team of doctors after having the life-changing operation.
“Now my right eye is done! Thank you Prof Stanga & his amazing team,” he wrote on social media.
“If the success of my summer is to be ‘floater’ free, that’s good enough for me” followed by two smiling face emojis.

Back in July, Phillip opened up about the "pioneering" treatment he was receiving to help rid him of the floaters.
Phillip had his initial operation in July and explained the process to his followers before later having the same procedure on the right eye.
He wrote in the caption: "Firstly, no part of my treatment and surgery was gifted and I wasn’t asked to post. It is also pioneering and costly.
"It was carried out by Prof Stanga at The Retina Clinic in London. I had Elective limited pars plana vitrectomy surgery. It didn’t hurt!
"If you have been told ‘just live with them’ that is not necessarily true, I’m sure there are exceptions, but they can be fixed.
"A full vitrectomy will usually cause a cataract quite soon after, a limited vitrectomy won’t.
"Prof Stanga and his team are leading the field here in the UK in this and other retinal treatments with state of the art equipment and rigorous pre op consultation and post op aftercare."
He also shared a snap of himself with a bandaged eye after the op

Phillip also opened up on the issues he's faced with the condition as he wrote: "These floaters have literally blighted my otherwise brilliant eyesight.
"For the first time in many years, right now, I’m looking at a clear blue sky, it is mood/mind and life changing for me.
"People who don’t have terrible floaters won’t understand what they do to your head and until now they really haven’t been taken seriously.
"Today I have a blood shot eye that will last 2 weeks and an intense regime of eye drops for a month… but my floaters are 100% gone.
"I reiterate, this wasn’t in any way gifted and I wasn’t asked to post, but I’m happy to promote British medical innovation.
"Again it is pioneering and expensive, hopefully the more it’s done, the sooner the price will reduce. Hope that answered the many questions I’ve been asked in the last 24 hours xx".
At one point Phil said he was going to have surgery in America, until it became available in the UK.
